Description

Thread burners, zappers and sealers are great tools to have when working with thread and cord. The Beadsmith’s Thread Zap II is considered the best all-around in the category of thread burners. The Zap II tip heats up instantly with a touch of the ignition button. Within seconds the tip can heat up to 700 degrees F/371 degrees C. It also conveniently cools down just as quickly. Included is a clear plastic cap to secure the trigger button and protect the coil tip. The cautery pen has a really fine filament tip that makes precision burns on the finest threads and knots. This feature makes it ideal for making finishing touches on bead weaving and stringing projects. There are replaceable tips, which are sold separately. The sealing tool is cordless and operated with 1xAA (1.5V) battery. To install battery unscrew the flat black cover from the bottom end of the tool. Insert battery, positive (+) end first. Replace the bottom cover. When hot, the tip can trim, burn and melt threads with one touch. To use the Thread Zap simply press and hold the black button located on the side to activate the heating element at the tip. You will usually see a slight wisp of smoke to indicate that the tip is hot enough to use. Continuing to hold the button, briefly touch the tip to the place on the thread where you want to cut, melt, or burn it. Once you achieve the desired result, allow a few seconds for the thread to cool before you touch any beads in that area. Replace the clear cap over the heating element. Note: do not store without cover in place! A note of caution – the tip gets extremely hot when the button is depressed. Keep away from children, flammable materials, and skin. Keep cap on when not in use. Not intended for children under 15. The overall design of this tool allows you to hold and handle it like you would a marker, providing a comfortable grip and a lot of control. Use this zapper in applications such as kumihmo, macrame and Chinese knotting. Complete your beading projects and jewelry with a professional finish.
